In the beginning…
As a teenager Antoni Okoh was completely bedridden at the age of 14 due to a strange attack on his body. At the hospital he was diagnosed of having tuberculosis which at the time had spread all over his body.
He was discharged from the hospital since medical science could not offer anything to improve his deteriorating condition.
However, a crusade hosted by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa with R. W Shambach as a guest minister in 1982 at Benin City Nigeria got which the young Antoni Okoh supernaturally healed of his terminal illness and in a matter of weeks he went back to school with increasing strength. That experience ignited a passion in him to see the sick healed and restored. Throughout his secondary and university education he never allowed a week to go by without ministering to the sick.
The passion become a mission
For years he carried a dream in his heart to help those who suffer in pain and sickness like he once suffered. He wanted to provide a place where hurting people would come and have faith put into them for their recovery.
This has led to the establishment of Sovereign Word Church, the Day of Recovery Crusades and other healing outreaches all over the world.
He now has a regular weekly telecast on several television stations reaching many African nations and the entire world.
A great servant of God with a strong healing anointing; he has been raised by God to revive lost hopes by healing the sick and impacting lives by ministering the word of God.
He is a graduate of Fine Arts from the Bendel State University Abraka, now Delta State University Abraka. He was awarded a Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity from Zoe Life Theology College in Philadelphia USA on 5th October 2008.
He is married to Pastor (Mrs.) Lucy Okoh who co-pastors the church with him. They are blessed with four children – Joanna, Eleazar, Shiloni and Jamin.
